SEPHADEX G-15 - Introduction
Sephadex G-15 is a polymer gel material with the following properties. First of all, it is a porous material with a large number of micro-pores, which can absorb solute molecules. Secondly, it has low swelling, can stably fix molecules in water, and is not easy to dissolve. In addition, dextran gel G-15 has high mechanical strength and can withstand certain pressure and vibration.
Sephadex gel G-15 is widely used in many fields. In biochemistry and molecular biology, it is often used to separate and purify polypeptides, proteins, nucleic acids and other biological macromolecules. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as a carrier material for drugs, which can help control the release rate of drugs and improve the efficacy of drugs. In addition, dextran gel G-15 can also be used for chromatographic separation, dye removal, wastewater treatment and so on.
A method for producing a glucan gel G-15 is generally obtained by dissolving a glucan monomer in an appropriate solvent and then performing a crosslinking reaction. The cross-linking reaction can be carried out by a method such as thermal cross-linking, chemical cross-linking or radiation cross-linking. The preparation process needs to pay attention to control the reaction conditions, in order to obtain the desired gel properties.
safety issues need to be paid attention to when using dextran gel G-15. First of all, dextran gel G-15 is a chemical, should wear protective gloves, glasses and other personal protective equipment to avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Secondly, we should try to avoid inhaling its dust and maintain a well-ventilated experimental environment. Finally, storage should be sealed to avoid contact with heat sources, fire sources, etc., to avoid accidents such as fire or explosion.
